CAREER OVERVIEW:
2009- Edwards opened his return to the Champ Car Atlantic Championship in 2009 with a bang in Sebring. After starting from second on the grid, he charged into the lead on the opening lap and was never challenged en route to his first career Atlantic victory. In Round 2 at Miller Motorsports Park, Edwards qualified fourth, but got a good jump at the start to take second place on the first lap. He remained in that position throughout for his second consecutive podium performance. His dominating efforts in 2009 propelled him to win the 2009 Atlantic Championship and give him a full time ride in the 2010 Champ Car World Series where he will drive for a top team in Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing. At Newman Haas in 2010 Edwards will replace departed driver Justin Wilson behind the wheel of the #2 Medi-Zone sponsored Champ Car DP01 machine. Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing will once again be a one car team in the 2010 Champ Car World Series due to it's ongoing motorsport programs in the IRL Indy Car Series and Atlantic series.
2008 - Despite missing the opening round of the season at Sebring, Edwards claimed the Star Mazda championship on the strength of five victories, four poles and nine finishes of fourth or better from 11 starts.
