2009 CHAMP CAR- Ended the season with only a few top ten showings but did show some promising results. Walker Racing welcomes Greg back to the team in 2010 in hopes of a much better season. Mansell does have great ability and it showed alot in his ability to fight back in every race regardless of the result. His attention to detail on the race track should help him develop in 2010 and beyond.
CHAMP CAR: In 2009 team owner Derrick Walker will give Greg Mansell his shot at the Champ Car World Series. A run of bad luck caused his 2007/2008 Atlantic series races to end up with poor reslts. However his driving skills and knowledge of the cars are good enough to earn him a chance in 2009. Mansell will pilot the #5 Walker Racing Aussie Vineyards sponsored Champ Car DP01 machine in 09.
ATLANTIC: In his Atlantic Championship debut at Long Beach 07, Mansell started 14th and picked up one position during the race to come home 13th... Mansell had a promising starting spot for the Monterey Festival of Speed when he placed the No. 5 machine sixth on the starting grid. Unfortunately, he and Dane Cameron got together on the second lap of the race and the contact was enough to put Mansell out after completing just one lap. He was credited with 20th place in the final rundown... After qualifying 11th for Round 3 at Mont-Tremblant, Mansell was involved in an incident with Luis Schiavo in the morning warm-up for the race and the damage to both drivers' cars left them out of the race. With nine points, Mansell is currently 20th in the overall Atlantic Championship standings, trailing 19th-place Christopher Zoechling by just one point. He is 65 points behind championship leader Junior Strous and 58 markers behind Rookie of the Year leader Markus Niemela with three of 11 races complete.
