Rookie driver made a splash in Champ Car in 2006, earning his first series pole and claiming a podium spot on his way to finishing second in the Champ Car rookie standings. Earned his best finish at Denver, finishing third after starting 13th.

Clarke joins the Champ Car World Series from the competitive British F3 Championship, where he won as a Rookie in 2005. Prior to that, Clarke won the prestigious Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch in 2004 and finished second in the UK Formula Ford Championship that same year. In his native Britain, Clarke is known as "Speedy Dan."

In 2008 Dan Clarke drove for HVM Racing where he was reunited with Keith Wiggins who he drove for in both 2005 and 2006. In 2009 he again will drive in Champ Car and joins the Sigma Racing team behind the wheel of the #33 Ticketmaster Intel Champ Car DP01.
